Oct 24, 2016, 12:41 PM
Another fantastic weekend is behind us as we wrap up the 2016 Edmonton Fall Home Show! Thousands of home decor enthusiasts and food lovers flooded the halls to learn practical home improvement tips, see demos, listen to expert presentations and indulge in some foodie friendly features.
With more than 200 trusted brands and local companies, the show floor sparked inspiration for show goers with big decor ideas and helped them gain trusted advice to follow through with their plans.
If you weren’t able to make it to the Edmonton Expo Centre October 21-23, take a look at the highlights from this weekend’s successful show!
Expert Presenters
The stages at the 2016 Edmonton Fall Home Show had a fantastic lineup of presenters who covered topics on design, real estate, decor, food and more! Funny man Todd Talbot, co-host of HGTV’s Love It or List It Vancouver, took to the Urban Barn and Edmonton Journal Main Stage, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, where he told insider stories about the filming of Love It or List It Vancouver and provided the audience with real estate tips and tricks.
Foodie Friendly Features
The Tomato Food and Drink Food Stage was the place to be for show attendees to dive taste buds first into Edmonton’s food scene. Some of the city’s most popular restaurants and culinary connoisseurs shared their knowledge and even some secret recipes with audience members.
On Friday Night the troops were rallied for some cocktail warfare! North 53’s, Tyler Gushaty and Have Mercy’s, Brandon Baker reported for duty with their shot glasses, bar shakers and muddlers in hand. The two mixologists prepared three signature cocktails for our expert judging panel while 50 lucky audience members in the reserved seating area feasted on sampler plates created by North 53 and Have Mercy. Brandon Baker took home the trophy for the Best Cocktail that he called “The Smoking Section,” and Tyler Gushaty had the highest overall combined score for all three of his cocktail creations.
Crowd Favourites
If show goers needed to take a minute to relax and rejuvenate after a jam packed day at the show, they headed over our chic, FLOFORM Lounge designed by Wicket Blue Interiors. Here they were able to give their feet a break from walking the show floor and read up on the latest trends in Western Living Magazine all without losing out on the action, since the lounge was in perfect view of the Main Stage!
People of all ages loved putting their colouring skills to work at the colouring wall brought to us by Edmonton’s very own Jason Blower. Attendees were also able to head over to the M(art)ket where they could purchase artwork and other home decor accents to spruce up their space!
Thanks to everyone who joined us at the 2016 Edmonton Fall Home Show. We can’t wait to see you all again in the New Year for the Edmonton Renovation Show (January 27-29, 2016)!
